– ‘The Blair Witch Project’ will always be an annual Halloween flick for me.. it started it all really, and nostalgia pretty much demands a yearly viewing.
– ‘The Poughkeepsie Tapes’
– ‘The Sacrament’
– ‘Cannibal Holocaust’
Definitely a few of my favourites; I tried to limit myself to three.. but, ‘Cannibal Holocaust’ is just so iconic I couldn’t stop myself. ‘The Sacrament’ was so good for me, because I do lots of research / work on serial killings and homicide in general and the Jonestown massacre is a case that’s always fascinated me. ‘The Sacrament’ was really well done.. as was ‘The Poughkeepsie Tapes’. I will forever have my closet completely door free, with only curtains there that I tie back!!
Thanks for your feedback!
Well I’d say
1. REC
2. Grave Encounters
3. Blair Witch Project
Well the first one maybe isn’t in the true “horror” genre, but I’ll say number one-
‘The Sacrament’ by Eli Roth.
‘Cannibal Holocaust’. ‘
‘Cloverfield’.
The ending of “The Sacrament” is pretty horrific! So it more than qualified. 🙂
1. Blair Witch
2. VHS 2
3. Rec
4. As Above So Below
5. McPherson Tape
1 – Marble Hornets
2 – Crowsnest
3 – Unfriended
1-The Blairwitch Project

Houses October Built
It looks like “Houses October Built” is gaining momentum!
Houses October Built. Slow burn… Ending lets your imagination fill in the blanks.
Specially for Halloween, its got to be THE HOUSES OCTOBER BUILT. But I love POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES too.
I couldn’t agree more with the Halloween theme!
Poughkeepsie Tapes is also up there!
I think I will go with:
Alien Abduction
[rec]
Exists
The Banshee Chapter
V/H/S 2
Afflicted
Grave Encounters!! <3
Hey! Love the vote!
I’ll go with these: PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, THE LAST BROADCAST, ALIEN ABDUCTION (it’s better than expected), THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, CLOVERFIELD, BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3, SKEW, THE LAST HORROR MOVIE, and THE TAKING OF DEBORAH LOGAN.
For Halloween I think part of the fun is re-watching super accessible films with people who have never seen them, so finding movies that are really fun for most people and have a high production value are key. I’d go with [REC], [REC 2], V/H/S, Paranormal Activity, Cloverfield. I think these are all, fun, accessible, and something you can just throw on in October and just enjoy them.
Yellow Brick Road
Devil’s Pass
Extraterrestrial
Devil’s Pass is a GREAT FF Film.
Is “Yellow Brick Road” found footage? From what I’ve seen the film appears to be cinematically shot for the most part.
Grave Encounters
The Taking of Deborah Logan
Thanks! I can’t argue with those choices (they are on my personal favorites list).
Marble Hornets (2009)
Paranormal Activity
haunted changi
The Houses October Built (2014)- for the pure ambience,it seems to capture halloween for me
Digging Up The Marrow (2014)- this was just fun to watch the creatures are perfect for halloween
Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon cause in the movies reality all horror movie villains exist
I’ll go on record and say that I’ll be very surprised if “Houses October Built” doesn’t make the cut!
